A clear HTML structure with click-through links between variable and rule dependencies — opens in a regular browser, no DriveWorks needed.

The app compares the project against the last generated state and only adds what changed to the changelog — it doesn't rewrite the whole output from scratch.

DriveWorks Documentation App is a standalone desktop application independent of the SolidWorks version — it doesn't need a SolidWorks add-in, just access to the DriveWorks project file. Supports Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.

Does DriveWorks Administration Tool need to be running during generation?
No, the app reads the project file directly. Neither DriveWorks nor its license need to be installed on the same computer.
Where does the generated documentation get saved?
To a folder of your choice — the static HTML files can be uploaded to an internal site, a shared folder, or attached to the project in a version control system.
Can colleagues without a DriveWorks license see the documentation?
Yes, the output is a static website with no dependency on DriveWorks — a browser is enough. The app's license is only needed for generating it, not for reading the result.
