How it works

Select a set of files

The task pane offers a choice of the whole folder or just the open assembly, filtered by type (part, assembly, drawing). Nothing gets picked file by file by hand.
Check the cleanup rules

Rename by template, delete unused configurations, clean up suppressed features and external references — saved and reusable as a preset.
Review the preview and confirm

Every change is shown before it's applied — what gets renamed, what gets deleted, what stays. Nothing is overwritten without manual confirmation.

TidySolidWorks installs as a standard SolidWorks add-in via MSI. Supports SolidWorks 2023 to 2026, 64-bit, Windows 10 and 11.

FAQ

Does it work with SolidWorks PDM?

Yes, TidySolidWorks reads and writes files the same way SolidWorks does — if they're under PDM control, they go through the same check-out/check-in flow.

Can the cleanup be undone?

You see a preview of every change before applying it, so you can uncheck anything beforehand. After confirming, normal PDM or backup version history applies — TidySolidWorks has no undo of its own.

How long does cleaning up a large assembly take?

Depends on the number of files and the rules chosen — for a few hundred parts it's a matter of minutes. The preview is computed before anything is written to disk.
